This game held a lot of GAC weight for the Soldiers who were trying to hang onto their tie for second place in the GAC Red behind Beecher.  Bendle also wanting to avenge a loss earlier to the Soldiers after getting up as much as 16 points in the first quarter.  Soldiers host this matchup with a packed out “Black Out Event” which created a great game day experience.

This time the guys didn’t come out flat like last time playing Bendle but Bendle had the hot hand to start hitting multiple tough three. So GCS found themselves with only a three point deficit after the first quarter.  The Tigers ramped up their defense and continued to hit shots and built an 8 point lead going into the half. While the effort was there in the first half from the Soldiers they knew they would have to come out aggressively in the third quarter to get themselves back in this game and that is exactly what they did.  Led by Trenton Boike’s 15 point quarter the boys staged a comeback and took the lead in the third quarter. The fourth quarter gave us viewers plenty of back and forth as each team laid out everything they had to win. The Soldiers were able to finish the Tigers off after hitting their free throws to put them away and complete the season sweep for the first time since joining the GAC I believe.  Final score was 70-61

The Soldiers were led by Trenton Boike with 31 points 5 rebounds 5 assists 4 steals and Tyler Chapman with 16 points 5 rebounds. Jonah Derderian added 11 points 7 rebounds as well.
