On Monday the Soldiers traveled to Mt. Morris.  This being their first game on a Monday due to some schedule changes and reffing shortages.  The Soldiers were looking to get back on a winning streak after beating Adrian Lenawee Christian on Friday but also losing to Flint Beecher and Flint Hamady last week.  With this win, they would move to 12-4 on the season.

The gym had very little energy to start the game probably due to the off night and time being played.  While GCS fans always travel when, Mt. Morris had basically no one in attendance for fans. So the game got off to a slow start for the Soldiers missing free throws and easy shots early.  However the boys had to create their own energy and we able to put some possessions together to build a double digit lead at the half.  While it looked like GCS would eventually run away with it, Mt. Morris never went away.  They continued to scrap and make plays keeping them around.  While the Soldier lead got to 18 at one point, it never felt like they had put Mt. Morris away.  The boys would go on to win 75-60.

The Soldiers were led by Tyler Chapman with 24 points, 7 rebounds and Trenton Boike with 24 points, 4 assists. Jonah Derderian added 9 points and Cole Lange 6 points.
