On Friday night, the Soldiers were on the road against Bendle. This matchup was their second of the season. Bendle is currently tied for second place in the GAC, behind Beecher. In the first game, Bendle ended up getting a lopsided 18-point win. However this time, the Soldiers came out as the aggressors, scoring the first 8 points of the game and keeping the lead for much of the first half. But a 25-point second quarter from Bendle gave them the lead at halftime, 30-25. Bendle outscored the Soldiers again in the third quarter 19-11 and felt like they may take the game over, but the Soldiers fought back in the fourth quarter— but still came up short, losing 57-65. We fell to 8-9 on the season and 7-6 in conference play. The Soldiers were led by Pierce Carpenter with 24 points and Lewis Jones with 18 points. Next they head to Saginaw Arts and Science on 2/20, at 7 pm.
