On Friday night, the Soldiers visited Bentley for their second conference match, but third time playing this season. In the first game, the Soldiers used a second-half surge to push to a 17-point win (57-40). Then the teams met again over Christmas break, but the Soldiers were missing multiple starters due to sickness, and ended up losing in overtime by seven points (56-63). In the third game, the Soldiers used an early run and solid defense to jump to a 17-point half time lead, holding the Bulldogs to just 12 points, 29-12. While there was more scoring by both teams in the second half, the Soldiers held a 15 to 20 point lead through the half. Soldiers won 64-48 to move to 6-7 on the season, 5-4 in conference. The Soldiers were led by Pierce Carpenter and Lewis Jones, both with 21 points and Trenton Boike with 11 points. Next is at Beecher on Tuesday, 2/4 at 7 pm.
