On Friday night at home the Soldiers went head to head with one of the best teams in the GAC this season. The last time they met was last season, and Webberville won on a buzzer beater. This game started out very much back and forth, exchanging buckets, and after the first half, the Soldiers were down 27-28. However, Webberville came out in the third quarter on a huge run, hitting jump shots all over the court—and after the third, it was 35-55 Spartans. The boys played much better in the fourth, but had dug themselves too big of a hole to climb out of. GCS lost 53-64 to Webberville. The boys were led by Pierce Carpenter with 15 points, and Lewis Jones and Tyler Chapman, each with 13 points. The Soldiers moved to 5-6 on the season. Next up is Hamady at home on Tuesday, 1/28.
