For the first time that I can remember, the boys team played at the old Flint Southwestern (Flint Community). The same gym in which some of the greatest Flint-area players have played. This was such a great opportunity for the Soldiers as they continue to look to improve, through their tough schedule. After a rough start, the boys began to put a few good possessions together to stay in the game, but still found themselves down 10 points at the half. In the second half, the Soldiers quickly surged a comeback led by Pierce Carpenter, with a couple of steals and eight points just in the third quarter. The whole fourth quarter was back and forth, with the Soldiers in position to steal a win up one with about two and a half minutes left. The Jaguars finished the game forcing multiple defensive stops, that lead to transition baskets. Soldiers lost, 43-50. The boys were led by Lewis Jones with 26 points and 5 rebounds, and Pierce Carpenter with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Next, we are home on Friday, 1/24 against Webberville.
