On Tuesday night, the Soldiers went to the Hamady Hawks gym and walked out with a really good win for this young team, 68-63. The boys jumped out to an 18-1 lead to start the game, shocking the Hawks and their home crowd— but the Hawks refused to go away. They started to chip into the lead in the second quarter, but the Soldiers held onto a twelve-point halftime lead. To start the second half, the Soldiers pushed the lead back up to 18, looking like they might run away with it. However, the Hawks fought their all the way back, and took the lead with about four minutes left in the game. The soldiers didn’t fold, took the lead right back, and finished the game by knocking down late free throws. The Soldiers were led by Lewis Jones with 22, Pierce Carpenter with 21, and Trenton Boike with 11. Next up is Bentley at home on December 20th. JV Score: 44-39 Hamady
